Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
October 25, 2026: we now describe how we record the way people use the site, including anonymous session replays, and we no longer list every service provider by name. The 30-day limit on the hashed network address is unchanged. (October 23: the free tier was added to this policy.)
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account or subscribe to TaxDelinquentTexas, we collect:
- Email address (for account access and communications)
- Payment information (processed securely through Stripe, we never store your card details)
- Unlock activity. A free account can reveal a limited number of property records each day. We record which records you revealed and when, so we can apply that daily limit and show you what you have already opened. Pro accounts are not metered and we do not keep this record for them.
- Network address. When you reveal a property record we take your IP address and immediately scramble it into a one-way cryptographic hash. We store only that scrambled version, never the address itself. We use it for one purpose: applying a daily limit per network, so one person cannot bypass the free allowance by creating many accounts. We do not use it for advertising, profiling or locating you. These hashes are deleted after 30 days.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide access to our tax delinquent property database
- Process subscription payments
- Send service-related communications (account updates, billing)
- Send occasional product updates and offers. Every one includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
- Improve our platform and data quality
We send a confirmation link to the address you sign up with, and the free daily unlocks become available once you confirm it. We also check your email domain against a published list of disposable and temporary mail providers. An address from one of those providers can create an account but cannot use the free daily unlocks.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Your credit card information is transmitted directly to Stripe using industry-standard encryption and is never stored on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
4. Property Data
The property data displayed on TaxDelinquentTexas is sourced from publicly available Texas county tax records. Property owner names, addresses, and tax information are public records obtained from county tax assessor-collector offices. We do not collect this information from our users.
5. Cookies, analytics and how you use the site
How you use the site. We record how people use the site, including pages viewed, searches, taps, and properties unlocked or saved, so we can improve it. We may also record anonymous session replays to see where the site is hard to use. We keep this information as long as we need it to run and improve the site. We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers. We work with companies that help us with hosting, payments, email and analytics, and they use data only to provide those services to us.
We use Google Analytics, which uses cookies to understand site traffic.
Session replays are made with Microsoft Clarity. Text you type, owner names, addresses, account and cause numbers, legal descriptions and your account page are masked before anything leaves your browser, so a replay shows where people tap and scroll, not what they typed or unlocked. Clarity sets cookies to tell one visit from another. Microsoft's privacy statement is at microsoft.com/privacy/privacystatement.
We also use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as light or dark mode.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption for all data transmission, secure authentication, and restricted access to user data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
7. Data Retention
We keep your account, including your email, until you close it.
If you cancel your subscription, your account becomes a free account.
When you close your account, you can no longer sign in and we will not contact you, but we keep a record of the account for our business records. You can close your account from your account page, or by emailing support@taxdelinquenttexas.com. While a subscription is still active the account page will ask you to cancel it first, so that closing the account cannot leave you being billed for something you can no longer sign in to.
Payment records are kept by Stripe as required by law.
The one-way hash of your network address, described in section 1, is deleted 30 days after it is created.
8. Your Rights
You may:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Close your account, from your account page or by asking us
- Opt out of non-essential email communications
- Cancel your subscription at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at our contact page.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If you keep using the site after a change, the updated policy applies.
10. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us.
